Hokitika’s Regent Theatre

Welcome to Hokitika's Regent Theatre, a cherished heritage building that has been a cornerstone of our community for over 80 years. Built in 1935, our stunning art deco cinema opened its doors in 1936 and has since become a beloved venue for films and live performances. After facing challenges in the 1970s, we were fortunate to be taken over by the Westland Community Centre Incorporated, dedicated to preserving this historic space for everyone to enjoy. Today, we continue to showcase a diverse range of films and vibrant live events, all while working hard to maintain and enhance our beautiful theatre.
